General
Maroo Mobile Safaris provides services in Botswana and in other neighbouring countries. The provision of our services is subject to the company's General Terms and Conditions set out below, which clients should read carefully before any booking confirmations are made. By accepting the company’s booking confirmation, the client confirms acceptance of these terms and conditions. Clients must understand that conditions in Africa are not the same as those in developed countries and standards of services, medical security or otherwise may be lower or different than those in their home countries, so Maroo Safaris cannot be responsible for unforseen circumstances that may be due to lack of foresight on the part of clients. We are always there to assist with any information that clients may need to know before they make bookings.
1. Bookings/Quotations
Bookings are valid for a period of 30 days. On confirmation of quote a provisional 14 day reservation will be made and Should you wish to extend the provisional booking, the request has to be made in writing. Maroo safaris reserves the right to refuse the extension. Upon confirmation of booking a 25% non-refundable deposit must be paid to secure your booking. The balance of payment must be received by Maroo Mobile Safaris 60 days prior to the travel date.Upon receipt of the balance of payment, you will receive your itinerary and additional information as confirmation of your reservation. The booking confirmation will show all details of the safari agreed on including price, payment terms and bank references. Client/agent should ensure all facts are clear and forward all remarks within a delay of 72 hours.
The client/agent will forward the inscription form by mail/fax/e-mail together with a copy of the passports of the participants. Alterations to bookings can be made by mutual agreement and will be assessed by penalties imposed on us by our suppliers (hotels, lodges, gorilla permits, etc). The payment of the deposit OR any other partial payment for a reservation on a safari constitutes consent by all guests covered by that payment to all provisions of the conditions and general information contained in this website whether the guest has signed the booking form or not. The terms under which the guest agrees to these safaris cannot be changed or amended except in writing signed by an authorised director of the Company.
2. Payment:
All bank charges for bank transfers are for the customers’ account.
3. Cancellations:
Cancellations are only effective on receipt of written notification. If cancellation is prior to 60 days before departure the deposit is forfeited. If the cancellation is made after the due date for full payment of the tour fare, charges will be levied. The scale of charges, expressed as a percentage of the tour prices, is as follows:
More than 8 weeks notice – Deposit forfeited;
Between 4 and 8 weeks notice – Deposit plus 50%;
Between 3 and 4 weeks notice – Deposit plus 50%;
Between 2 and 3 weeks notice – Deposit plus 60%;
Less than 2 weeks notice – 100%.
Should a guest fail to join a safari or join it after departure or leave it prior to its completion, no safari fare refund can be made.
4. Baggage
You are expected to travel with a soft bag that weighs no more than 20 kg. The CLIENT warrants that neither his/her baggage, equipment or other goods which the OPERATOR is to transport contains any flammable, hazardous, illegal or dangerous articles. The OPERATOR may in its sole discretion and without giving any reason therefore refuse to carry a CLIENT's baggage and/or photographic equipment and/or any
other goods at any time.
5. Insurance
It is a condition of booking, that the sole responsibility lies with the guests to ensure that they carry the correct comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover themselves, as well as any dependants/travelling companions for the duration of their trip to southern Africa. This insurance should include cover in respect of, but not limited to, the following eventualities: cancellation or curtailment of the safari, emergency evacuation expenses, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, damage/theft/loss of personal baggage, money and goods. The Company, including their representatives, employees and agents will take no responsibility for any costs, losses incurred or suffered by the guest, or guest’s dependants or travelling companions, with regards to, but not limited to, any of the abovementioned eventualities. Guests will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services they may require, and may find themselves in a position unable to access such services should they not be carrying the relevant insurance cover.
6. Responsibility
Neither Maroo Mobile Safaris nor any person or agent acting for, through or on behalf of the Company shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever arising from any cause whatsoever and, without restricting the generality of the foregoing, shall specifically not be responsible for loss or damage arising from any errors or omissions contained in its brochure, website or other literature, loss or damage caused by delays, sickness, theft, injury or death. In addition the Company shall have the right at any time at its discretion to cancel any safari or the remainder thereof or make any alteration in route, accommodation, price or other details. In the event of any safari being rendered impossible, illegal or inadvisable by weather, strike, war, government or interference or any other cause whatsoever, the extra expenses incurred as a result thereof shall be the responsibility of the passenger. The Company may at its discretion and without liability or cost to itself at any time cancel or terminate the guest’s booking and in particular without limiting the generality of the foregoing it shall be entitled to do so in the event of the illness or the illegal or incompatible behaviour of the guest, who shall in such circumstances not be entitled to any refund. The person making any booking will, by the making of such booking, warrant that he or she has authority to enter into a contract on behalf of the other person/s included in such a booking and in the event of the failure of any or all of the other persons so included to make payment, the person making the booking shall by his/her signature thereof assume personal liability for the total price of all bookings made by him/her.
7. Age Limits in Camps:
Minimum age limit in camps and lodges is between 8 and 12 years old depending on the Camp. If age is misrepresented, the Company reserves the right to terminate the safari without compensation.
8. Prices/Rates
We do our utmost to keep to the prices published. Should increases be forced on us by exchange rates, etc., we reserve the right to surcharge without notice, up to a maximum of 15% of the tour fare.
9. Delays
We cannot be held liable for any delays or additional costs incurred as a result of airlines or any mode of transport not running to schedule.
10. Protection of Environment
The CLIENT agrees and undertakes that whilst on SAFARI he/she will not damage the environment by picking wild flowers and other vegetation, littering, bathing with soaps and detergents in the river or use insecticides other than those specified by the OPERATOR. Should the OPERATOR require no smoking, the CLIENT undertakes to abide by the OPERATOR'S decision.
This agreement is made subject to and shall be governed by and construed according to the laws of the country in which the safari takes place. The agent/company making travel arrangements and the reservations office of the Company acts merely as an agent for the operating companies.
To the best of our knowledge the information on this website is correct on this date. We cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies or changes that may occur hereafter.
Maroo Mobile Safaris reserves the right to change the itinerary of the tour should certain campsites or National Parks become unavailable for whatever reason. The booking will be substituted with another option of similar value.
